Projects’ Goals

In depth exploration of citrus and winery by-products in broilers diet.

Assess the dynamic of two prototypes additive blends based on Citrus and Winery extracts, respectively, on broilers diet.

Replacing synthetic antioxidants with natural compounds.

The partial and/or complete replacement of vitamin E in broilers diet with the supplementation of Citrus and/or Winery extracts.

Silencing the resistome.

Assess the changes in ceca microflora using metagenomes analyses which simultaneously provide insights for the resistome pool.

Methodology

WP1

  • The WP1 focuses on the prototypization of feed additives derived by Citrus and Winery by-products.

WP2

  • The WP2 aims to design an integrated experimental plan consisted of 3 independent trials.

WP3

  • The WP3 aims to assess the potential of the natural compounds derived by Citrus and Winery by-products to substitute the synthetic antioxidants in broilers diet.

WP4

  • The WP4 aims to explore changes in gut ecosystem.

WP5

  • The objective of WP5 is to concern with ensuring that the PI’s team work together and that any project delivery challenges which arise are dealt with effectively.

WP6

  • The WP6 aims to promote NaturStome project to stakeholders, research community and demonstrate the results to the scientific society.
